Back in 1996 '1-800-XLARGE1' was the number to call if you wanted fresh streetwear clothing delivered to your place. People did not even mind getting a description of the clothing over the phone only, so popular was the LA based streetwear brand. Ever since X-LARGE had opened it's doors in 1991, Mike D (member of the Beastie Boys) was a booster for the label. Every time he was seen in public the brands logo made an appearance as well. People directly connected X-LARGE with the Beastie Boys even though it was only Mike D enhancing the brand as a supporter and share holder. Due to the Beastie Boys big support from Japan, the labels popularity quickly rose overseas.
X-Large Clothing – Past, Present, and future
Ever since the brand enjoys a nostalgic, retro character that keeps the fashion, style and culture of the 90ies LA-lifestyle alive. The clothing is inspired by work wear, vintage, and club scene aesthetics; to mid-century design, skateboarding and music influences.
