The Independent Truck Company is a manufacturer of skateboard trucks which is based in Santa Cruz, California. Since 1978, the company is deeply rooted in the skateboard scene and sponsors a range of professional skateboarders. Even famous skateboarder Tony Hawk is part of the company's roster. The trucks are being produced in San Francisco by Ernico Enterprises, the only active production place in the US. The Independent Truck Company made a first appearance on the market with the Stage 1 model, also called „Indy“. The truck was the next big thing at that time as it had a much better quality than other existing products.

The apparel of the iconic skate brand often features the eye-catching Alisee cross. The logo was inspired by an image of Pope John Paul II. He was wearing the icon on his vestment in an edition of TIME magazine.
