Given the shared creative nature, eccentricity and ability to display personality and culture it comes as no surprise that fashion and music have always gone hand in hand. Influencing each other and impacting society constantly fashion and music are almost inseparable. However, you will be hard-pressed to find a brand that incorporates both aspects as flawlessly as Maison Kitsuné.
Founded by Gildas Loaëc (former art director and manager of Daft Punk) and Masaya Kuroki (architect) in 2002 as a music label, Kitsuné branched out into fashion three years later.
Kuroki who oversees the companies fashion side is a huge fan of 90s NBA basketball and was instrumental in launching a NBA x Kitsuné capsule collection in early 2018. Numerous NBA stars have been seen wearing the French preppy style of Kitsuné clothing in the last couple of years including LeBron James, DeMarcus Cousins and Carmelo Anthony, bringing the worlds of fashion, music & sports closer together.
