The camouflage motif will probably never go out of fashion. Every time it seems to disappear from the scene, it somehow makes its way back into the fashion industry. This trend can highly be linked to the company Rothco that runs military, tactical, survival and outdoor apparel since over 60 years. Rothco was able to establish the military look in the streetwear and fashion scene. Even prominent style icons and fashion bloggers wear the family business' clothing. Rapper and fashion god Kanye West actually decided to print the invites for his Yeezy Season 2 on a camouflage long-sleeve from Rothco. No wonder, that the company is handled as the retailer par excellence for fresh military looks.
Rothco – combat tested since 1953
In 1953 in a small loft on Great Jones Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Milton Somberg began Rothco, then known as Morris Rothenberg & Sons. Dealing with used clothing and World War II army surplus, the business grew, settling in a larger warehouse on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. When used military goods became scarce, Rothco became manufacturers and over the years the company was able to become the worlds' largest supplier of military clothing and gear to the commercial market. Nowadays Rothco serves over 10.000 dealers globally and is known worldwide for great quality and a high functionality.
