Lee is a specialist in denim jeans and a brand with a long tradition from Kansas, USA. Founded in 1889 by Henry David Lee, the company initially produced trousers and jackets. However the real breakthrough came in 1913 when the company brought out an overall, known as the Union All. This could be worn over the top of clothing and protected the workers from dirt. Lee was thus able to establish itself in the market and it became in the 1930s and 40s one of the leading producers of workwear. In 1954 the company eventually ventured into the realm of casual wear and now offers a variety of Lee clothing.
Lee clothing continues to be popular
With the rising popularity of jeans in the 1960s, Lee expanded into 81 different countries worldwide. Since the 1970s the focus lies completely on lifestyle fashion with Lee clothing. From modern designs to classic cuts, Lee Clothing now offers a wide range of designs which favour the use of denim. This includes many cuts of jeans and denim shirts which are back in style. With Lee clothing you never forget the roots of the brand. Lee still stands primarily for high quality which was as true 100 years ago for the American workers as it is today.
