Nike Air Max 90
The Nike Air Max 90 is instantly recognisable by both younger and older generations and has remained relevant in fashion for almost three decades. Here’s a bit of background about the Nike Air Max 90, one of the world’s most famous trainers:
When the Nike Air Max 90 was first released, it was known as the Air Max III. But in 2000, 10 years after its release, it was renamed to represent its birth year: 1990. Thus, the Nike Air Max 90 was born.
The Nike Air Max 90 was originally designed as a running shoe but soon further developed into a global fashion icon.
The Nike Air Max 90 was born as the Air Max III but was renamed after its actual birthday following the relaunch in 2000. The Nike Air Max 90 was Tinker Hatfield’s 3rd instalment to the ‘Max’ line and had a higher cut than the original Air Max giving it more support. The Nike Air Max 90 was a forerunner in terms of innovation and was one of the first of its kind of use dura-mesh, synthetic suede and synthetic leathers. This not only benefitted the build of the Nike Air Max 90 shoe, but also the range of available colour combinations.
The Nike Air Max 90 was created to be as lightweight and breathable as possible to enhance its effectiveness as a running shoe. A large air unit in its heel helps for shock absorption (the classic trademark of the Nike Air range) and the upper part is made out of Duromesh with a mix of synthetics.
Everything about the Nike Air Max 90 embodies comfort and performance, but it is perhaps the range of colour combinations that made the shoe so famous. From white on white to florescent, there is a Nike Air Max 90 to suit any taste or style.
