Nike Air Max Thea
In 2013 Nike continued its Air Max legacy with the Nike Air Max Thea which took inspiration from its predecessors, the Air Max 1 and the Air Max 90. Here’s what you need to know about the Nike Thea:
The Nike Air Max Thea takes its name from Greek mythology where the name Theia means “goddess” or “divine”
As the name suggests, the Thea was designed especially for women
Following on from Nike greats like the Air Max 90 and the Air Max 1, the Nike Air Max Thea is one of the newest additions to the Air legacy and is specifically designed for women. The Nike Thea takes its name from Greek mythology where the word Theia means "goddess”.
The Air Max Thea itself has obviously taken inspiration from its predecessors with the visible air pocket in the heel, trademark Swoosh emblazoned across the side and minimal design. To make the Thea more elegant, the window to the Nike Air tech in the heel has been shrunk down and the cut of the shoe has been lowered.
Comfort is key with the Nike Air Max Thea. Synthetic overlays designed for support, lightweight cushioning, and a Phylon midsole all come together to make the shoe breath and be as comfortable as possible. The Nike Air Max Thea is of course not just a sports shoe and can be worn with most outfits due to its simple but bold style.
