Nike is the world’s largest sporting goods manufacturer. You’ll find both athletes and fashionistas alike wearing Nike clothing. Nike was originally setup under the name Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964 by the athlete Phil Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman. Originally the company existed as a distributor for other brands but in 1971 Nike produced its first pair of shoes. The iconic Swoosh that we now all associate with Nike was also first designed in 1971 for a pair of football boots the company planned to launch. No one at the time could have possibly guessed that it would become one of the most iconic trademarks of all time, which can be found on all Nike clothing.
Nike – from shoes to clothes
From selling Football boots, Nike moved to sponsor their first team Football kit in 1978, the Portland Timbers. Over the next few years Nike clothing was expanded to many more items for many different clubs and players. However it was not until the 1980s when Nike had its first big breakthrough in the world of the NBA as Michael Jordan first decided to play in Nikes. Improvements to the design and functionality pushed his signature shoe to become what is today legendary, the Air Jordan range. As it is now the number one basketball brand, Nike sponsors many NBA stars including Kevin Durant, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. Basketball Clothing is just one part of the Nike clothing range on offer at KICKZ. In addition to performance sportswear Nike clothing also provides many lifestyle products, which allow you to look great regardless of whether you’re on the court or on the street.
