At least since the 192:182 at the All-Star Game 2017 in New Orleans, it was clear that the event itself needed a restart. Off from a pure "No Defense Highlight Show" and back to an exciting and competitive competition between two Superstars assembled teams, as we can only compete against each other in NBA 2k!
That's why the NBA and the players' union have decided to change the mode of the All-Star Games. At this year's 67th All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, there will be no classic clash between East and West. Chosen by fans, players and journalists, each player (East and West) with the most votes will be named as the respective team captain, giving them the opportunity to select their team members one at a time from a pool of 22 other players. At this year's redesigned All-Star Game, LeBron James and Stephen Curry have the honor of putting their teams together.
New All-Star Game = New Jerseys! In keeping with the new mode, Nike has adapted the jerseys to the changes in their own personal debut! The colors black (Team James) and white (Team Curry) make the jerseys look classic and timeless. Due to the abolished differentiation between East / West, the respective team logos adorn the chest of the players. Shirt numbers and player names are inspired by LA's iconic street signs. Details like the Jumpman (instead of the Swoosh) and the KIA logo (main sponsor) completing the jersey’s outstanding look!
