Where Streetball meets Culture: Jordan Triangle & Quai54 Tournament 2026

The front shoe shows the lateral profile with a black mesh upper, deep purple overlays and Jumpman branding, and a volt green midsole with a neon green basketball logo on the tongue. The rear shoe is tilted to display the volt green outsole with a chevron-pattern traction design and purple Triangle accent.

At first glance, you instantly recognise it: the Jordan Triangle Q54 is no ordinary basketball shoe. The striking combination of deep violet, neon-green volt and rich black practically screams court action. But this shoe is more than just an eye-catcher — it's a statement. A piece of living basketball culture. A direct link to one of the most iconic streetball events in the world: Quai54 in Paris.

The Jordan Triangle Q54 is part of the exclusive 2026 Quai54 Collection — a limited line that Jordan Brand drops every year to celebrate the legendary tournament. And this year is especially significant: from 10 to 12 July 2026, the Centre Sportif Emile Anthoine in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower once again becomes the epicentre of the global streetball community. And you can be part of it — with the right shoe on your feet.

KICKZ Explains: What Is Quai54?

If you love streetball, you know Quai54. If not, it's time you learned the story behind one of the most culturally significant basketball events in the world. Quai54 is not just a tournament. It's a movement.

Founded in 2003 by Hammadoun Sidibé and Thibaut de Longeville, the vision was clear: bring the raw energy of the legendary Rucker Park in New York to Paris and merge it with the unique French street culture. Sidibé had fallen in love with the streetball scene on a trip to NYC in 1991. Years later, together with Thibaut — who worked in hip-hop marketing — they turned that passion into reality.

The first event in 2003? 1,500 visitors. Pure word-of-mouth energy. A vibe like a family reunion. Today, Quai54 is the largest streetball tournament in the world.

Paris Meets New York: A Cultural Bridge

The parallel between basketball and hip-hop culture in Paris and New York is unmistakable. Both cities breathe urban culture. Both live for the court, the music, the community. Quai54 is the perfect embodiment of this connection.

"Quai54 goes beyond the boundaries of basketball," the founders said from the very beginning. And that remains the DNA of the event to this day: it lives off the energy between the stands and the court. It is basketball, hip-hop, art and community all in one.

Fat Joe and the Terror Squad recognised the potential early on. A 52-minute documentary about one of the first editions went around the world — and became a turning point. Suddenly Quai54 was no longer just a Paris thing. It was global.

The black mesh upper features a smooth deep purple overlay running along the midfoot and collar, with volt green accents on the lace loops. A volt green embroidered Quai54 basketball logo sits on the black tongue. The oversized volt green midsole wraps the forefoot with a sculpted cutout window exposing the black lower sidewall. Subtle text branding is visible on the midsole edge.

Jordan Brand × Quai54: A Partnership Since 2006

In 2006, Jordan Brand came on board — and recognised what Quai54 could become: "the best outdoor streetball gathering in the world." Since then, there has been an exclusive Jordan × Quai54 Collection every year: sneakers, sportswear, hoodies, tees — all designed with pan-African colours and symbolism. Red, green, black, gold: colours of unity, pride and self-expression.

These annual releases are more than just merchandise. They are collectibles. Statements. Connections to a community that is networked worldwide. And the Jordan Triangle Q54 is the latest iteration of this tradition — a shoe that carries the Quai54 DNA in every detail.

Quai54 2026: What to Expect

This year will be legendary again. From 10 to 12 July, 24 teams (16 men's, 8 women's) from around the world will come to Paris. Professional players meet talented amateurs. 22 high-level matches. And the French team 'La Fusion' — featuring Nadir Hifi, Sylvain Francisco and Matthew Strazel (all French national team players) — will try to make the most of the home advantage.

But Quai54 is more than basketball:

  • Friday, 10 July: Quai54 Futures — U15 tournament with the best young talents

  • Saturday, 11 July: The legendary Dunk Contest with four world-class dunkers from Australia, China, France and Senegal

  • Sunday, 12 July: Men's & Women's Final, 3-Point Shootout and Half-Court Shot Contest

  • Live concerts every evening, DJ sets between games

  • Commentators: Mokobé (founder of 113) and Duke

A Shoe for the Culture: The Jordan Triangle Q54 in Detail

When you attend this event, when you feel the energy, when you see how basketball unites people from all over the world — then you understand why the Jordan Triangle Q54 is more than just a shoe. It is the perfect symbol for everything Quai54 stands for: performance, style, community and an unstoppable urban energy.

The Design:

The Jordan Triangle Q54 is instantly recognisable. The violet-black base is broken up by neon-green accents — on the midsole, the toe area and the translucent outsole. The Quai54 logo on the tongue and heel makes it clear: this is not a standard release. It's limited. It's culture.

The colour palette screams streetball energy. Bold, loud, unapologetic. Just like Quai54 itself.

The Performance:

But the Triangle Q54 isn't just style. It delivers genuine Jordan performance:

  • Formula 23 Foam: Jordan's first full-length Formula 23 foam cushioning in a community model. Explosive energy return for quick cuts, sprints and jumps — exactly what you need on the outdoor court.

  • Triangle Traction: The unique triangular traction pattern outsole — inspired by Phil Jackson and MJ's legendary triangle offence — gives you grip for sharp direction changes and sudden stops.

  • Phylon Upper: Light, breathable, supportive. The low-cut silhouette gives you freedom of movement, while the sculpted collar allows natural ankle movement.

  • Court to Street: The Triangle is versatile. It performs on the court. It looks good on the street. Just like Quai54 — where basketball and lifestyle merge.

The black mesh and suede upper runs the full length of the shoe, with a deep purple overlay sweeping from the heel through the midfoot. The volt green midsole curves dramatically from toe to heel, contrasting sharply against the black rubber outsole. A volt green embroidered Quai54 basketball logo is visible on the black tongue near the collar.
